For more information about the Municipal Elections, you can also visit the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec(DGEQ).


Municipal elections will be held in Beaconsfield on November 1, 2009. Citizens will vote for the members of the municipal council of the City of Beaconsfield for the next four years.

More specifically, 7 electoral positions will be filled, namely :
. Mayor position;
. 6 City Councillor positions

You are invited to regularly visit the website of the City of Beaconsfield at beaconsfield.ca and click on "elections 2009' on the home page. In order to better inform its citizens, the City of Beaconsfield will regularly update the information about the municipal election over the next few months. You will find a lot of useful information on the steps leading to the election as well as forms and a map showing the electoral districts. You will learn about the eligibility requirements that must be met to be entitled to vote, run as a candidate or work as an election official. Our website will also contain hyperlinks to other websites providing municipal election information.

Message from the Returning Officer

On November 1st 2009, you will have the privilege to exercise your right of vote to choose the elected officials that will best represent your interests within the municipal council of the City of Beaconsfield.

As city clerk and as the returning officer, I am responsible for ensuring that this general election is held according to law. To ensure a smooth going democratic process for the municipal elections, I rely on the electoral personnel team of approximately 102 employees that will work under oath, with fairness and professionalism towards a smooth vote.

To be eligible to vote, you must be registered on the List of Electors of the City of Beaconsfield. I invite you to consult the different sections of the 2009 Municipal Elections website for more information. .

Polling Stations

Advance Poll

Electors registered on the List of Electors can vote at the Advance Poll. The Advance Poll will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009, from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lawn Bowling, annex to City Hall, located at 303 Beaconsfield boulevard.

All polling places are accessible to the disabled.

To be able to vote, it is mandatory to produce one of the following identification documents: Québec Health Insurance card, Québec driver's licence, Canadian passport, Indian Status identity card or Canadian Forces identity card.
