Borrowing policies

- Parents or legal guardians are responsible for their children and assume full responsibility in the choice and care of material borrowed from the library by their children.
- You should not lend your card or any library materials you borrow, as you are responsible for all items on your card.
- Lost or stolen cards, changes of address and/or telephone numbers should be reported promptly to the circulation department.
- Membership information will be updated on a yearly basis. Proof of residence must be shown.

Borrowing privileges
Borrowing privileges are unlimited with the following restrictions :
- 2 books, on same subject, from the entire collection, regardless of language
- 4 Magazines with the same title
- 4 Talking books (CDs, cassettes)
- 6 CDs (with adult card only)
- 4 Audio visual items (videos/DVDs) (with adult card only)
- 2 CD-ROMs (adult card only)
Library privileges will be suspended when a member's outstanding debt reaches $10.

Loan period
Most materials : 3 weeks DVDs and Videos : 1 week Books with many requests : 2 weeks
New Fees As of January 2008, Seniors are required to pay fines for any late materials.

Late fines
$0.20 adults / day / item $0.10 children / day / item $0.50 vidéocassettes, CD, DVD, CD-ROM / day / item

Renewals
In person, with or without the items, or by telephone 514 428-4470. Always have your membership card on hand when renewing.
Renewals are not accepted by answering machine.
It is now possible to renew directly online at www.beaconsfieldbiblio.ca . To access your account, you will need your library card number (14 digits) as well as your PIN (4 digits).

Replacement card
A $3 replacement fee will be charged for a lost or stolen card. A replacement card makes the previous card unusable. Before a replacement card will be issued, identification must be shown and all outstanding fines paid.

Book return
A book return, open at all times, is conveniently located to the left of the employees' entrance on the parking lot side.
