HELMETS and gloves ARE RECOMMENDED FOR ALL SKATERS (Especially beginners)
Recreational skate: An open ice time for all to enjoy. EZ-Skaters available. Figure skating manoeuvres are NOT permitted.
Figure skating: Practice time for youth (8 years and over) and adults. Participants are requested to respect other skaters in the performance of manoeuvres and choice of music. Ice space and music selection cannot be reserved or restricted.
Pre-School time: A time especially for the little ones to have the space they need. Experienced skaters (4 and 5 years) may use the ice with off-ice supervision. Less experienced skaters require adult on-ice supervision. EZ-Skaters, balls and pre-school hockey equipment available. HELMETS REQUIRED for children.
Senior shinny hockey: 15 years plus - max. 20 players.
Junior shinny hockey: 10-16 years - max. 20 players. Shinny hockey is non-organized pick-up hockey. There is no coaching or refereeing. All players MUST wear a CSA approved helmet and FULL face mask and a neck protector.
Family skate: A period reserved for beginners and less experienced skaters. Half the rink is reserved as a play area. EZ-Skaters and cones may be used in the play area. All juniors (17 years and under) must be accompanied on the ice by a participating adult. Max. 4 juniors per adult.
Public skate: A period of lap skating open to all ages and abilities. Children 5 years and under must be accompanied by a participating adult. Max. 2 children per adult. Figure skating manoeuvres are NOT permitted.
Rules
Please respect the skate guards and/or staff orders at all times.
Always skate with the traffic.
No playing tag or other games.
No forming trains or chains (more than 2 adults or four people).
No throwing snowballs.
No pushing or fooling around.
No speeding.
No fast backward skating.
No playing with cones.
No chairs, strollers, etc. on the ice surface.
No carrying small children when skating.
No food or drink on the ice surface.
No shoes or boots on the ice.
One end of the ice surface is reserved for tots with parents.
Do not hang onto the guards or distract them from their duty.
