Policy Statement:

The City of Beaconsfield, Culture and Leisure Services will provide fair and equitable opportunities for program registration with preferred access to Beaconsfield residents.

Policy Explanation:

The City is responsible for promoting leisure services and as such recognizes that Beaconsfield residents and stakeholders should have priority access.

The fundamental principles that govern priority access are:

  1. Beaconsfield residents
  2. Non-residents

Registration Dates:

  • Beaconsfield residents only may register at the first advertised date and pay the advertised rates.
  • Non-residents will register at subsequent dates.
  • Registration is ongoing after the first date, up until the program registration deadline.
  • Will be advertised each session

Registration Process:

  • At least once per year, in the fall, a mass registration will be held for all programs.
  • Specific programs may have separate registration dates (i.e. Aquatics, Recreation, summer programs, etc.)
  • Pre-registration may be held for selected programs.
  • Patrons will present themselves in person at the designated registration site, on or after the date. Culture, Recreation, Aquatics registration will be held at Recreation Centre. Library holds its own registration.
  • Registration will be first come first served. A patron may register another person.
  • Proof of residency and age may be requested
  • Full courses will be posted.
  • If a course is full you may be put on a waiting list.
  • Extra courses may be opened from the waiting list.
  • Courses with insufficient registration to break even may be dropped at the cut off date.
  • Class transfers may be approved and any official registration transfer will be subject to the Refund, Transfer and credit policy.
  • Class withdrawal is subject to the Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy.
  • The City reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration, Civic holidays, bad weather or other municipal purposes.
  • Class cancellation by the City will not be penalized and subject to Refund, Transfer and Credit Policy.

Payment:

  • Payment must be made by cash, cheque, interac or credit card;
  • No post-dated cheques will be accepted, except for designated programs;
  • Fees are those advertised, less any rebates according to policy;
  • Payment in full required.
