The City wishes to inform residents that a slight difference can be noticed in the smell and taste of the drinking water coming from the Pointe-Claire production plant which serves Beaconsfield.

This episodic situation is due to the presence of algae in the river. Appropriate treatment is applied to remove the algae from the drinking water, but an earthy taste may persist while the circulating water is renewed.

It is important to note that the current situation does not represent a health hazard. The smell and taste of the water can be reduced by placing it in the refrigerator before drinking.
