Launch of Partage Club in Beaconsfield

An innovative app to borrow, connect and support your neighbours

The City of Beaconsfield is proud to announce the official launch of the Partage Club mobile app in its area, offering 380 free licences to residents. Available as of today, this user-friendly platform allows residents to borrow and lend items to each other, while encouraging everyday acts of mutual aid. Beaconsfield is the first municipality in Québec to introduce an enhanced version of the app, which includes a new feature that allows residents to ask members of the community for help with small tasks.

This innovation is part of the Connecting Beaconsfield initiative, which promotes social connection as a key tool for climate resilience while contributing to a better quality of life in the community. A city where neighbours know and support each other is better equipped to deal everyday challenges as well as emergencies such as power outages, flooding, or severe storms.

The app will be programmed to limit searches within the City of Beaconsfield to encourage connections between residents and strengthen the social fabric within neighbourhoods, between neighbours.

In addition to the item-lending feature, the app will include an exclusive option for residents to request help. This new tool, designed to meet local needs, allows users to request small services in four categories: yard help, help outside the home, companionship and leisure or knowledge sharing. The aim is to foster connections while promoting a culture of mutual aid and neighbourly solidarity.

Partage Club also supports environmental objectives by providing a practical solution to over-consumption and the under-use of one’s own possessions. The app makes it easier to lend or borrow seldom-used items such as tools, camping gear, kitchenware, etc.

The City encourages all residents to discover the app and take part in this unifying initiative, which serves as an additional tool for building trusted, supportive local networks.
