The Library is currently looking for volunteers aged 55 and over to sit with a child (7-12 years old) for 30 minutes per week and listen to them read in the language of choice when registering (French, English or both) for our Get Your Read On program. Volunteers are there to help the child understand what they are reading and to help them pronounce difficult words. Sessions will be held at the Beaconsfield Library Monday to Thursday between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (no weekend periods).
For the summer, we are mainly looking for volunteers who are available to read in French.
Please note that we will conduct a background check before accepting you for this program.
