What can appear on a plaque?
Many participants choose a family name, a tribute, the name of a loved one or another meaningful inscription that falls within the 25-character limit, including spaces and punctuation.
Examples include:
- Famille Dubois-Léger
- In Memory of Ann Rice
- Le Club des marcheurs
- Friends of Woodland St.
- À Juju & Will, de maman
Plaques may recognize:
Business names, logos and promotional recognition are not permitted as part of the donor recognition program for the Beaconsfield Cultural Centre.
Can my inscription be something other than my name? Are there any restrictions?
Yes. You can choose to include your name, the name of someone special to you or other wording as long as it falls within the 25-character limit, including spaces and punctuation. Inscriptions may not include:
Profanity or offensive language
Political messages or endorsements
Websites, phone numbers or social media handles
Commercial advertising or promotional messaging
Emojis or symbols that cannot be reproduced
The City of Beaconsfield reserves the right to reject inscriptions that do not conform with guidelines.
Can my message be in another language than French or English?
Yes. The Community Wall celebrates the many people, families and cultures that make up our community. Messages may be submitted in languages other than French or English, provided they comply with the Community Wall guidelines and fit within the available space.
All inscriptions are subject to review and approval by the City of Beaconsfield prior to production.
Please note that some special characters, symbols or writing systems will require verification before production.
