Borrow, lend, and ask for help – all in one place!

Partage Club is a fully bilingual mobile app where residents can lend, borrow items, and request services between neighbours.

It’s a simple, local, and human way to build community connections.

380 free licenses are available to Beaconsfield residents (18 years and older). Sign up as of May 1!

Launched as part of the Connecting Beaconsfield Project.

The City of Beaconsfield declines all responsibility for the Partage Club platform. Its involvement is limited exclusively to the acquisition of licences for the benefit of its residents.

It’s good for your wallet

Borrowing is the new buying — save money every day. Subscribers enjoy unlimited access.

Is it limited to the Beaconsfield community?

Yes, absolutely!

Partage Club is being introduced as part of the Connecting Beaconsfield Project, which aims to encourage residents to build and strengthen community connections with their neighbours and other Beaconsfield residents. Partage Club is an additional tool we are introducing to help our residents towards building a socially connected and resilient community.

Since the project’s main goal is to improve social connection locally, the app will automatically limit the search radius to Beaconsfield only for the 380 residents that will download the app for free through this pilot project.

In other words:

  • Selection of objects to borrow: the items you will see on the app belong to other Beaconsfield residents.

    • Because of the geographical filter, the selection might be limited especially after the launch, so don’t hesitate to add any items you are willing to lend!

  • Requests (objects and services): the requests you will receive via the app and through emails will only come from Beaconsfield residents – and vice-versa, your requests will only be shared with Beaconsfield residents.

If you want to borrow an item that you don’t see:

We invite you to place a request on Partage Club. Other Beaconsfield residents will receive it and may respond. People are usually more generous than we think, and most requests are filled within 48 hours.

If you wish to modify your search radius:

While we strongly encourage Beaconsfield residents to lend, borrow and ask for help with services to other Beaconsfield residents, it is possible to modify your search radius and to Add a new neighbourhood club in your profile, under the Change my clubs menu.

For help and support

Use the in-app chat or contact Partage Club via email, by accessing the Help menu directly in the app.

Why use Partage Club instead of online groups?

Unlike informal platforms like Facebook groups, Partage Club is designed for a safe, respectful, and well-managed experience.

  • Verified and managed profilesAll members must accept the terms of use to access the app. Each account is linked to a verified identity.

  • Rating system: Inappropriate behaviour can be reported and may lead to removal from the platform.

  • Focus on lending and helping rather than overconsumption: The app is free to use, ad-free, does not resell data, and prohibits sales of any kind or commercial solicitation.

  • Intuitive borrowing and tracking interface: Users can easily manage what they lend, borrow, or request. Reminders are sent as due dates approach.

  • Help is just one click away: Support from the Partage Club team is available via chat and email directly in the app.

Damage waiver

Partage Club covers compensation in case of material damage, up to $300 per year (for items with a minimum value of $25).

Wondering what you can share and borrow? Here's some inspiration!

  • Planning a picnic? Borrow a cooler and a picnic basket.

  • Family game night? One of your neighbours surely owns Monopoly.

  • Hosting a get-together? Find folding chairs, tables, and everything you need for the occasion.

  • Need to trim the hedge? A hedge trimmer might be waiting just two streets away!

The selection of items available to borrow on the app will evolve and vary over time, depending on several factors:

  • New users downloading the app – as the number of active users increases in Beaconsfield, the selection will improve! Spread the word in your neighbourhood!

  • Seasonal requests – needs can vary quite a bit from one season to another (winter vs summer)!

Here are a few examples of items you’re likely to find on the app:

  • Camping gear (e.g., tent, chairs, portable BBQ)

  • Tools and yard equipment (e.g., broom, hedge trimmer, saw, pressure washer)

  • Kitchen accessories (e.g., cake stand, slow cooker)

  • Toys and kids’ gear (e.g., bikes, scooters, board games, costumes)

Also think about recent weather events (floods, ice storms) and the type of equipment that could be useful in such situations...

Once you join the app, we challenge you to:

  • Add 5 to 10 items to lend – Start with small items that have no sentimental value.

  • Invite your neighbours to download the app – spreading the word to the people living closest to you will help build a strong hyperlocal sharing network

Check the list of prohibited items in the Terms of Use.

Only in Beaconsfield: the Services feature, a new way to help one another

Need a helping hand outside your home? Want to build new connections in your neighbourhood?

Beaconsfield is breaking new ground with a brand-new feature, designed by and for our community, tailored to meet the needs of our unique local context - where many families and older adults live side by side.

With this new Services feature in Partage Club, residents can now send out a call for support with small actions that can make a big difference, in these four categories:

  • Yard and garden tasks (ex: preparing the garden, raking leaves, planting seeds)

  • Outdoor assistance (ex: adding windshield washer fluid, checking tire pressure, rolling out garbage/recycling bins)

  • Companionship and leisure (ex: practising a language, finding a walking or running buddy, organizing play dates for families with kids the same age)

  • Skill sharing (ex: tips on composting, learning to sew, gardening advice)

These categories will evolve with the seasons and the changing needs of our community.

Have a request that doesn’t quite fit any of the existing categories?

Just submit your idea through Partage Club — their team will review it!

What if… :

  • Spring became the season of gardening with neighbours?

  • Summer brought spontaneous walks and park meetups?

  • Autumn sparked a new tradition - harvesting side by side?

  • We don’t even dare imagine what winter might bring!

This is so much more than a feature in a mobile app. It’s the beginning of a culture of neighbourly solidarity – that will blossom right here in Beaconsfield, thanks to you!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • For now, only help requests can be posted - publications where users offer their help are not possible at this time.

  • For safety reasons, all services are meant to take place outside the home.

  • For practical tips and best practices: see our section Our tips for sharing with confidence.

Our tips for sharing with confidence

Neighbour-to-neighbour sharing : how it works

In Beaconsfield, sharing is built on respect, trust… while having fun!

Whether you're lending/borrowing an item or offering a helping hand, here are some simple tips to make your experience enjoyable and safe:

  • Clarify expectations: how long the service will last, when the item should be returned, etc.

  • Use the app for all communications to keep a written record.

  • Leave a review after each lending, borrowing, or service exchange – it helps build a trustworthy community.

  • Meet in a public place if that makes you feel more comfortable (e.g., Library, City Hall).

  • Only share essential information: just enough to make the sharing possible (e.g., phone number, address).

  • Users are not subject to security background checks. Use caution, just as you would in any neighbourly interaction.

  • Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Be courteous, punctual, and respectful.

Lending and borrowing, the right way

Before lending or borrowing an item:

  • Inspect the item's condition together – you can take photos.

  • Agree on a return date and stick to it – the app will send reminders as the date approaches, and extensions can be requested.

  • Return the item in the same condition… or even better!

  • Leave a review every time.

  • You can donate items. Sales and solicitation are not permitted.

Check the list of prohibited items in the Terms of Use.

Not sure how to use the item you borrowed? Need a hand?

  • Ask the lender if they can show you how it works.
  • Want to go one step further? Post a service request in the Knowledge Sharing category on Partage Club.

Helping out, made simple

Services are based on a mutual agreement between residents. No money is exchanged. Be respectful, attentive, and cautious.

Understanding Builds Trust

Even for a small gesture, clear communication avoids misunderstandings!

Before offering or receiving a service, take a moment to clarify:

  • What’s expected – what will (or won’t) be done?

  • When it works best – date, time, approximate duration

  • Personal preferences – one-on-one or with a buddy, meeting location, etc.

  • How to stay in touch – in-app messaging (recommended), phone, etc.

A Safe Environment for All

  • Minors should not give or receive services alone – a parent or guardian must have a Partage Club account and be present.

  • Whenever possible, choose services outside the home, especially for first-time meetings.

    • Outdoor Maintenance and Help Around the Home categories: services are provided near the home

    • Companionship & Leisure and Knowledge Sharing categories: we recommend public places (e.g., Library, park, City Hall) for first meetings

  • If going inside is necessary, limit access to certain rooms and stay alert.

  • Not comfortable being alone? Ask someone to stay with you during the service.

A Little Help, a Big Thank You

  • Not feeling comfortable once you're there? You’re free to leave at any time.

  • After the service, leave a comment in the app or send a thank-you message – a small gesture that builds trust.

Things didn’t go as expected? Need urgent help?

  • Municipal Patrol (24 hours): 514 428-5999

  • Police: 9-1-1

Don’t forget to always report incidents to Partage Club, so they can take appropriate action, if required.
