Highlights

Maintenance of Municipal Infrastructure

The council approved a series of essential contracts for the maintenance of public lighting systems, the inspection and cleaning of sanitary and storm sewers, and the rehabilitation of drinking water and sewer lines. The council also approved a contract for targeted improvements to the storm drainage system to better address current climate realities.

Ongoing Support for Green Spaces and Community Life

A contribution of $6,500 was granted for the annual maintenance of green spaces between the Beaconsfield Lawn Bowling Club and the City, and financial support was provided for local school and sports initiatives, reaffirming Beaconsfield’s commitment to community life.

Recreation Centre

By-law authorizing expenditures for professional services

The council adopted a by-law authorizing expenditures of $3,060,000 for professional services related to the expansion and retrofitting of the Recreation Centre. The register will be open on May 26 and 27, 2026, to allow residents to vote on this loan.

Improved access to hot water 

Good news for Recreation Centre users! The council has awarded a contract for the temporary installation of a hot water system. This project will improve access to hot water and provide a more comfortable experience for Centre users.

Updates to urban planning and zoning by-laws

Several by-laws were adopted amending zoning, permit and certificate, and architectural integration regulations. A request for a zoning amendment concerning Zone H336 will be subject to a register that will be open on May 26, 2026, to allow residents of Zones H336 and H340 to comment on this request.

Payment of the Quotes-Parts to the Montreal Agglomeration Under Protest

The City will proceed with the second installment of the quotes-parts to the Montreal Agglomeration, while maintaining its protest to defend Beaconsfield’s interests.
