Road work in the Woodland and Highway 20 area, week of October 12

Safety and Prevention October 9, 2026

From October 13 to 17, work carried out by the City of Beaconsfield and CN will cause traffic disruptions and temporary closures in the area of Woodland Avenue and the Highway 20 ramps.

Some work will take place at night, while other work will require extended closures, both day and night.

Motorists are asked to plan their trips, follow the signage and flaggers' instructions, and use the posted detours during full closures.

Work and disruption schedule

From Tuesday, October 13 to Saturday, October 17

Night work, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., every night (from Tuesday evening to Saturday morning)

Full closure

  • Beaurepaire Drive, at the intersection of Woodland Avenue, in both directions.

Disrupted traffic

  • Alternating traffic on Woodland Avenue.
  • The Highway 20 ramps will remain accessible.

From Wednesday, October 14 to Friday, October 16

CN work, from Wednesday at 10 p.m. to Friday at 6 a.m., continuously

Full closure

  • Woodland Avenue, at the railway crossing, in both directions.

This closure will remain in effect day and night for the entire duration of the work. The Highway 20 ramps will remain accessible. Motorists must follow the detour signs in place.

From Thursday, October 15 to Sunday, October 18

Night work, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., every night

Disrupted traffic

  • One of two lanes will be closed on the Woodland exit ramp from Highway 20 westbound.

The exit will remain accessible, but delays are possible.

Caution and compliance with signage

Several operations will take place at the same time in this area. Traffic conditions may therefore vary depending on the location and the time of day.

To ensure everyone's safety, it is essential to:

  • Follow the temporary signage and flaggers' instructions at all times.
  • Use the posted detours during full closures.
  • Slow down when approaching work zones.
  • Allow extra travel time.

We thank residents and road users for their caution, patience, and understanding.

Additional work is planned in this area during the week of October 19. Details on schedules and disruptions will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
