Public activities at the Recreation Centre

  • Valid Leisure Card holders do not have to pay an entrance fee.
  • Other Beaconsfield and Kirkland resident participants will be required to pay an entrance fee of $4.50/adult and $2.50/child. * Proof of residency is required for Beaconsfield and Kirkland residents 
  • Non-residents must pay an entrance fee of $6.75/adult and $4.50/child.

All visitors must obey all rules in place for the protection of users and staff. It is forbidden to use the cleaning equipment of the Center for your personal use.

To obtain or renew a Leisure Card, please visit the Recreation Centre during opening hours. * Proof of residency is required for Beaconsfield residents (e.g. driver's licence or Hydro-Québec/telecommunication company bill accompanied by a piece of photo identification). If the request is for a person under 16 years of age, please provide a Medicare Card or Birth Certificate AS WELL AS the parent or legal guardian proof of address.

To obtain assistance with registration, please call the Recreation Centre at 514 428-4520 during office hours:

  • Monday and Friday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Arena

General information for the arena

Public skating: Hockey and Figure Skating are not permitted during Public Skating periods. 

Shinny hockey: A CSA approved helmet, full face mask and neck protector are mandatory. Slapshots, checking, coaching and refereeing are not permitted.

Stick & puck: Consult the rules

Group coaching is not permitted during public activity periods.

Arena schedule

The arena will be closed from April 22, 2024, for major renovations.

Gymnasium

General information for the gymnasium

Pickleball & Badminton: Players must bring their own racquet and birds (or balls). Click here for the rules.

Open Gym activities: Children aged 5 to 10 must be supervised by an adult.

Family activities: Reserved for parents and children participating together. Some equipment is available. 

Please respect the age requirements and level of play of activities as mentioned on the current schedule.

General information for the pool

New directives for swimming activities: 

Children aged 8 or younger or persons that cannot swim must have a participating companion during leisure swim and during WIBIT. 

WIBIT: Wibit: Plenty of Fun Awaits You at the Pool

What happens when you set an inflatable obstacle course on water? FUN!

Kids, and adults too, will have a blast on Beaconsfield’s Wibit track!

Test your balance, play with your friends and have a great time!

For swimmers 6 years and older AND at least 1.10 m (3.6 ft) tall.

Limit of 12 people at a time on the WIBIT.

Children 6 to 8 years old: a parent must accompany the children in the water if using the Wibit.

Mandatory:

  • Pass a swimming ability test
  • Wear a personal flotation device (provided)

Accessibility

There is an accessible passenger drop-off/pick-up area large enough to accommodate modified vehicles, taxis and buses.

Parking

  • There are four (4) parking spaces reserved for vehicles carrying persons with disabilities.
  • The parking spaces are identified with the International Symbol of Accessibility both on the ground and with a sign post.
  • Spaces are in close proximity to the main entrance.

Access to the Building

  1. By foot/wheelchair to the main entrance (no degradations) from the parking lot.
    • Main entrance is equipped with an automatically opening and closing door equipped with a motion sensor.
  2. An access ramp to the basement. 
    • Handrails are present at two (2) levels.
    • An automated door allows for easy access.

An interior ramp joins the ground floor and the first floor.

Public washrooms

Toilets, on the first floor, are accessible and partially adapted for persons with handicaps.

Drinking fountains

There are presently public drinking fountains located on all floors. They are well adapted to persons with handicaps.
