We are proud to announce that the Centennial Park Jetty has been awarded Gold certification in the Landscape Architecture / Waterfront Park & Promenade category at the 19th edition of the Grands Prix du Design.
Located on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis, the project transforms a degraded and enclosed waterfront structure into a welcoming public space that reconnects the community with the water. Visitors can now sit along the water’s edge, take in the landscape, and launch small boats.
The redevelopment addressed the significant environmental challenges of the site—including waves, wind, ice, and changing conditions—while reducing the shoreline’s artificial character. Detailed studies in hydraulics, structural engineering, and biology guided the design and helped shape a more resilient waterfront.
A new granite wall protects the shoreline while creating opportunities to sit, observe, and engage directly with the lake. The re-profiled shoreline and site-adapted vegetation further soften the edge and support a more natural landscape over time.
The Centennial Park Jetty demonstrates how technical rigor and thoughtful landscape design can come together to create a durable, accessible, and meaningful connection to the water.
