A generous act, forever engraved at the heart of the Cultural Centre
The City of Beaconsfield is proud to present the Community Wall, a permanent artistic installation that will allow residents, families, and groups to leave a lasting mark at the heart of the future Cultural Centre.
Inspired by the movement of stars across the night sky, the Community Wall transforms individual acts of generosity into a collective constellation. Located in the main lobby of the future Cultural Centre, near the multipurpose room, it will be one of the first things visitors see as they walk through the doors. Each plaque will represent a story, a memory, a family, a friendship, or a tribute that helped bring the Centre to life.
Anyone who makes a gift of $1,000 to $4,999 to the Beaconsfield Cultural Centre Campaign may reserve a plaque on the Community Wall. Two recognition levels are available: Level 1 ($1,000 to $2,499, silver finish) and Level 2 ($2,500 to $4,999, champagne finish). Only 200 plaques are available, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants are free to choose the message on their plaque—a family name, a tribute, the name of a loved one, or any other text that is meaningful to them, within a 25-character limit. Families, groups of friends, and local associations may also take part by making a joint gift under a shared name.
“The Community Wall was born from a deep conviction: public spaces have the power to tell stories. Drawing on the movement of stars, we wanted to create an installation that is both timeless and deeply rooted in the life of the community. Each plaque, in its verticality, invites the eye to rise and discover the countless stories that made this Centre possible,” says the Lemay team.
The Community Wall is part of the community phase of the campaign, alongside the Spark Events and the network of community ambassadors. It complements the other recognition opportunities available to donors, including naming opportunities within the Centre. To date, the campaign has raised $1.8 M toward its $2 M goal.
