A small gesture, a big impact for my neighbourhood and my community
Why become a Neighbour Connector?
Neighbour Connectors is an initiative of the Connecting Beaconsfield project aimed at fostering local solidarity and strengthening community resilience in the face of climate challenges (heat waves, ice storms, power outages).
Each resident can, at their own pace and according to their interests, create hyperlocal connections to improve collective well-being. Greeting your neighbours is already an excellent first step...
What is a Neighbour Connector?
A Neighbour Connector is a resident who helps create and foster connections in their neighbourhood: by informing, animating, and bringing people together through small gestures that promote mutual aid and solidarity.
They can, for example:
engage in friendly conversations,
relay useful information on municipal services,
support neighbours in more vulnerable situations (elderly, disabled, isolated, etc.),
participate in the organization of block parties,
all while remaining involved at his or her own pace.
These are just a few examples of small actions that can make a big difference.
There are no obligations, and every Neighbour Connector is unique.
This program is for Beaconsfield residents who are 18 years of age or older.
